The last week before NET is for keeping what you know and removing surprises, not for new chapters. Sit two full papers, review only your mistakes, do one run on the CBNET interface, have your documents ready by day 5, and sleep normal hours for the last three nights.
Key facts
- Bring your admit card and one original photo document: CNIC, passport, Family Registration Certificate, or matric or FSc certificate
- NUST keeps the admit card at the test centre for verification
- Islamabad venue: NUST Exam Hall, entry through Gate 4, H-12 campus
- Miss your session and NUST's policy is no second chance, apart from extreme emergencies
- CBNET results come within 24 hours, PBNET within 5 to 7 working days

Why the last week is different
By now your score depends on what you already know. A new chapter started six days out rarely reaches the point where you get its questions right under time pressure. What can still move your score is smaller and duller: fewer careless errors, no unsaved answers, a clock you are used to, and a brain that has slept.
So the week has a short list: keep the material warm, rehearse the test, and settle the logistics early.
The seven days
| Day | Study | Admin |
|---|---|---|
| 7 days out | Full paper, timed, then mark it | Check your session time and centre |
| 6 days out | Rework every wrong answer from that paper | |
| 5 days out | Formula sheets, one MCQ set per weak chapter | Print admit card, find your original ID, put both in one folder |
| 4 days out | Full paper on the CBNET simulator, or under PBNET conditions | |
| 3 days out | Rework its wrong answers, English vocabulary review | Plan the trip, including travel time |
| 2 days out | 2 to 3 hours of light review only | Pack the bag |
| 1 day out | 1 hour at most, then stop | Travel if you are coming from another city |
| Test day | Nothing new | Leave early |
Two full papers is enough. A third in the last three days mostly tires you out, and a bad score on day 2 can shake you for no reason.
How to review in the last week
Do not reread whole chapters. Open the mistake list from your recent full papers and rework those questions without looking at the solution. If you solve one cleanly twice, cross it off.
For formulas, use one sheet per subject. The maths formula sheet and the physics formula sheet are built for this. Read them once a day from day 5. Do not copy out a new one from a different book.
For English, go back over the words you have already learned instead of adding new ones. Words you met once last week are weaker than you think.
Rehearse the interface
If you sit CBNET in Islamabad or Quetta, the interface needs as much rehearsal as the content. The real client:
- Records an answer only when you press SAVE.
- Lets you flag a question only after an answer is saved.
- Has no question grid, only Next, Prev, First and Last.
- Has one clock for the whole paper, with no per-section timer.
Day 4 is for a full paper on the simulator with those rules. Practise select, SAVE, Next until you stop thinking about it. Then practise the last ten minutes: a sweep for any unsaved answer before FINISH. The pacing post has section budgets you can rehearse at the same time.
Logistics, sorted by day 5
Most test-day panic is logistics. Settle it early:
- Admit card. NUST asks you to print it and bring it. It is kept at the centre. Print two copies in case one gets wet or torn.
- Original ID. One of CNIC, passport, Family Registration Certificate, or matric or FSc certificate with your photograph. Originals, not photocopies.
- Session and centre. CBNET candidates chose a date and session at registration and get a roll number, centre and login. PBNET candidates get the time and centre on the admit card. Read it twice.
- The route. In Islamabad the venue is the NUST Exam Hall, with entry through Gate 4 at H-12. If you are travelling from another city, arrive the day before.
Missing your session is the one mistake you cannot fix this cycle. NUST's FAQ says candidates who miss their session are not given another chance, apart from extreme emergencies considered case by case.

What not to do
- Start a chapter you have never studied.
- Buy a new book or join a "final week crash course".
- Read the group chat. Every rumour about what came in yesterday's session costs you an evening and changes nothing.
- Study past midnight the night before. Rest helps you more on test day than one more hour of revision.
The night before and the morning
Stop studying by early evening. Eat normally. Put the folder with your admit card and ID by the door. Set two alarms.
In the morning, eat something, leave with time to spare, and do not open notes in the waiting area. Once the paper starts, remember there is no negative marking. Every question gets an answer before you press FINISH, even if the last five are guesses.
FAQ
What should I study one week before NET?
Your own mistakes from recent full papers, your formula sheets and English words you have already learned. Do not start new chapters.
How many mock tests should I take in the last week before NET?
Two is enough: one about seven days out and one about four days out, preferably on a CBNET-style interface. More than that tires you before the real test.
Should I study the night before NET?
Keep it to an hour at most of light review, then stop. Sleep and the right documents in your bag will help you more than late revision.
What documents do I need for NET?
Your admit card and one original document with your photograph: CNIC, passport, Family Registration Certificate, or matric or FSc certificate.
